All treatments begin with an intro and assessment which can be done on the phone. During an initial consultation I will gather essential information about your pet and their specific needs. This conversation serves as an opportunity for me to inquire about the animal's current symptoms, and to understand their medical history, any ongoing health issues, previous injuries, or surgeries. I will also gather information on the animal's daily routine, exercise regimen, diet, and any medications or supplements they are currently taking. It also serves as an opportunity for you to understand how Bowen Therapy can improve your animal's health and wellbeing.
I provide an at home service, which ensures your pet is in their most comfortable environment to receive their Bowen Therapy treatment. From the first moment we initiate contact, your animal is my number one priority. I will never force a treatment onto your pet, but instead work with them at their own pace. Each treatment is customized and never rushed, ensuring the animal's comfort and well-being.
Animal Bowen Therapy differs from massage as it focuses on stretching the soft tissues, including the skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. This technique involves applying transverse rolling movements to specific body areas to activate the nervous system, prompting the brain to restore balance and homeostasis.
By loosening tight muscle fibers and enhancing blood and lymphatic flow, Animal Bowen Therapy aids in post-surgery healing and addresses both acute and chronic injuries. For acute injuries, treatment is directed away from the injury site, stimulating healing. This therapy influences the dog's meridians and acupuncture points, making it both physical and energetic. Sessions incorporate short rest intervals to allow the animal's body to process the stimuli effectively, tailored to their temperament and needs.
Many animals will feel a difference after just one Bowen Therapy treatment, and ideally between 1 and 3 sessions will allow their bodies to respond and adapt to the treatment.
Treatments are typically spaced a week apart to allow the body to process the treatment. Animals with chronic conditions may benefit from monthly sessions for maintenance.
Overall, the recommendation for further or ongoing Bowen Therapy sessions is based on the individual needs of the animal, the nature of their condition, and an assessment of how they respond to treatment.
