About Us

My mission here at Four Paws is to provide compassionate and effective care to animals through Bowen Therapy. With a deep commitment to the well-being of your furry companions, My focus is on alleviating discomfort, fostering relaxation, and aiding your pet's natural healing processes. With my expertise, I tailor treatments to suit the individual needs of each animal, whether they're dealing with pain, mobility issues or seeking stress relief. I deeply value the bond between humans and animals, and I feel honoured to play a role in helping pets lead healthier, happier lives.

What is Bowen Therapy?

Bowen Therapy is a non invasive technique that involves a sequence of gentle yet powerful moves. These moves are a manual application of myofascial stimulation to the body, performed either individually or sequentially at specific locations, interspersed with designated resting periods. Throughout the treatment, physical and energetic messages are sent through the parasympathetic nervous system, triggering a healing response. By addressing all connective tissue, muscle, ligaments, tendons, fascia, skin and organs we can in turn stimulate the body's natural healing response and facilitate faster recovery.

How can Bowen Therapy help your pet?

Bowen Therapy can help with a range of musculoskeletal problems, such as immobility due to injury or aging, along with many other issues such as anxiety, poor digestion, performance stress, skin conditions and breathing problems. I find that animals tend to enjoy their treatment and are able to fully relax, but for those slightly more anxious individuals a little patience and a lot of love go a long way.

If your pet is experiencing any of the following issues, the Bowen technique could be of great benefit to them;

  • Stiffness or difficulty standing
  • Limping or reluctance to engage in usual exercise routine
  • Irritability from being touched
  • Tiredness
  • Veterinary diagnosis of chronic conditions or degenerative disease
  • Digestive issues, lack of appetite or problems going to the toilet
